New FEA users often read the color first. Red looks dangerous and blue looks safe, but contour colors depend on scale and display settings. Start with the quantity of interest: displacement, reaction force, nominal stress, hot-spot stress, contact pressure, or strain.

Then check loads, constraints, units, contact assumptions, and mesh convergence. Separate real design risk from stress singularities near sharp corners, point loads, and idealized fixed boundaries. Compare the right stress or strain measure against the right material limit, including temperature, fatigue, creep, and manufacturing direction where relevant.

The result should end as a design question: change the load path, add a fillet, increase bearing area, change rib direction, or run a more refined analysis.
